Intro

El Ropero de un Soñador is a company dedicated to multiple activities. However, its main activity is the development and design of costumes for the stage, with more than 15 years of experience in the area.

Due to this digital leap that many companies are taking after the crisis caused by COVID-19, El Ropero de un Soñador decides to create its own space to show their current and potential customers their work and with the possibility of enabling an online store in the future.

This project was about the brand identity of Estudio de Vestuario- El Ropero de un Soñador S.A. This included the logo design, stationery design as well as website design.
This project started in 2014 with the logo and the business paper design. Later on in 2018, the concept of the website started to take place to finally start in 2019.
For this, it was necessary multiple meetings with the studio to understand and discuss how would be the best way to proceed with it.

Business goals

The logo, the brand strategy, and the website were of great importance to promote the services and get the first clients.

Used tools

Understanding the user

The users were easy to identify. Current and potential clients. Since the studio work B2C and B2B, the shareholders could be dance academies, dance companies, theaters, independent artistic groups, so as individual people competing or performing in the country or internationally.

Personas / User journey

After understanding better the target market and the possible users we could have, I had some meetings with the team to get more information. As this is a simple page to give relevant information to users, I planned to understand which could be the most relevant information to show to them. To do this a user journey was helpful to show where the potential clients might require more information.

And these analyses concluded that we had to design the website considering 2 types of users but the content would be relevant for both, so there is no need to create different content. This types are:

    • Academies, groups, companies, etc
    • Individual performers

And all this information helped later on to create the architecture of information.

Architecture of information

Sitemap

A design connects the users with the content and the context, to get this result the information architecture is so important because it focuses on the organization of information within digital products.

Some sessions together helped to determine the right organization of content and flow.

The conclusion was to create a 5 page website with the possibility of creating a e-commerce in the future.

Wireframes

After having a better understanding of the services the users and potential clients, I started to generate the Wireframes. The purpose of these was to show the content of the website to sell the initial proposal. These went through a round of feedback with the client and once approved, I started designing the UI.

Solution

Responsiveness

The site was also tested to work on mobile and desktop mainly.

High Fidelity Mocks

Eventually, this final prototype was created in Figma to be shown to stakeholders. I made a presentation where I exposed the design and the final result. I showed several user flows and let them interact with the static mock-ups. After this presentation and once they were satisfied with the result, I was able to start the implementation stage.

Hi fi mock ups which was approved by the stakeholders and we could not run a test because of lack or resources and time.

Implementation

I worked from end to end in developing the website UI and UX process. I have used as CMS platform WordPress because of the versatility and accessibility that it possesses to work on.

The implementation is done using Elementor web builder in WordPress. It took around 2 weeks to publish it, after some iteration meetings.
